I don’t think it was down to an “unofficial hard reboot”* though because I don’t generally do them. In the short month I’ve been ‘Pi’ing, I’ve only had one card need re-imaging (running an early version of OpenELEC). Not a huge deal, unless you’ve just done a long compile and not yet backed up the files. In fact it can corrupt your SD card so that you have to re-image it. For the Raspberry Pi, it can cause problems on your SD card. For desktops and laptops, it can cause problems on the hard disk drive. But we also know, or should know, that doing this isn’t good for the computer. Most PCs can be forcibly switched off – even when they’ve crashed – by holding the power button down for 3 seconds. Of course, we all know you can shut down any computer by pulling the plug or switching off the switch. ( If you came here because your B+ won’t fully shutdown, visit this page.) Your issue is exactly this mix.Ī more in-depth explanation of how to adjust things in RetroPie using the RetroArch configurations is on their github, here. While he's specifically talking about ghosting, the general consensus is there's a problem with some controllers and the way RetroPie configures them and with the internal hardware of the iBuffalo (crystals) in some cases, making the combo a frustrating experience for some. I've currently left it for over 2 hours and there's been no movement. I don't know or understand why this has made a difference but I'm not getting any ghost inputs at all. The only difference made to the config file really, is that the iBuffalo input config is now at the very bottom of the input list instead of being the first on the list. Now it doesn't skip though the menus at all. I went back to onto my actual Pi after rebooting and set it up as a new contoller. I went into the emulationstation config (/opt/retropie/configs/all/emulationstation/es_input.cfg) and removed the controller config for the controller entirely. I would like to attach the second controller only when nee. I was not able to find an official guide how to realise this. Now I am trying to setup a Buffalo Classic USB Gamepad for two player games.

I am using a PS3 Controller with a third party BT-Dongle. Immediately I realized that when I would hold the y button down (to run and pick up and hold shells, etc) it wouldn't let me press any other buttons. RetroPie: Playstation 3 Controller (Bluetooth) einrichte. I recently got the iBuffalo Usb Snes controller for my retropie build and booted up Super Mario World. I was getting this issue with the iBuffalo controllers but I somehow seem to have fixed it. RetroPie iBuffalo usb controller can’t hold down y button. I came across some posts (apologies, this was months ago now) which suggested that the chipset in some of these USB OTG hubs may have some issues recognising low bandwidth accessories (usb controllers, keyboards, mice etc) while they would detect cable connected XB or PS3/PS4. The first controller works absolutely fine. Had this same issue with this same style of OTG hub in a 'Retropie in a NES cart' I was building for by brother. When I perform lsusb I can see the raspberry pi does in fact recognize that there are two of them (F710s) connected to it. I wanted to configure the other two Logitech F710 wireless controllers I have. Several users in various forums (too many to cite specifically) report ghost button presses and the turbo function jacking up certain buttons.įrom the RetroPie Forum wherein users are stating issue with iBuffalo pads specifically: I configured two Buffalo USB controllers without issue.
